Let us introduce you to Dr Robbie Slater, Co-Director of WIDI SIM! Dr Slater is an Assistant Professor of Abdominal and Thoracic Imaging in the Department of Radiology with the College of Medicine at the University of Florida.
A Georgia native, Dr Slater completed her undergraduate studies at Florida State University in Tallahassee. She was awarded her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed a surgery internship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington and subsequently completed diagnostic radiology residency here at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Dr Slater spent many years working in private practice in her beloved Georgia, where she solidified her strong clinical background. Her true calling, however, was in an academic setting. In 2007, she joined the faculty at the University of Florida, where she has been teaching ever since. Dr Slater is well known for her dedication to medical students, residents and fellows, as evidenced by several “Exemplary Teacher” awards that have been bestowed upon her.
In her spare time, Dr Slater is an avid horseback rider and a board sport aficionado. She spends her summers on a surfboard, winters on a snowboard, and skateboards in between!
