RAD-AID Guyana

The WIDI Team is excited to provide support to Dr Gillian Battino, Director of RAD-AID Latin America and the Caribbean, in building radiology programs. RAD-AID is an international aid organization focused on increasing and improving radiology for poor and developing countries. This includes Guyana (a small country on the northern mainland of South America), where Dr Battino also works as the Director of the Radiology Residency Program at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). GPHC is the country’s largest hospital with 600 beds. With a population of 800,000, Guyana is classified by World Bank as the third poorest country in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The WIDI Team is supplying RAD-AID Guyana with a two-year core curriculum of systems-based pre-recorded didactic and case-based lectures utilized by radiology residents at the University of Florida. Book lists and sub-specialty lesson plans will also be developed.

WIDI is honored to be assisting RAD-AID Guyana and looks forward to future collaborative efforts! If you would like to assist RAD-AID Guyana, please contact Dr Gillian Battino at gbattino@rad-aid.org
